At South Carolina Energy Justice Coalition, we lead with justice, compassion, and resilience. Our belief is that investments in renewable energy solutions that boost the economy, create high-wage jobs, promote health, and protect our homesteads are the best path forward.

Reducing energy burden, which is defined as the percent of household income spent on heating and cooling a home, remains a central focus of our collective work. Energy burden is a key indicator of energy justice as households that cannot afford power face life-threatening situations

Our ask is that policymakers appoint a Third Party Administrator to helps shape energy efficiency programs, obtaining savings for overburdened utilities customers

SC's lawmakers are our partners in smart policy. We feel that building meaningful relationships with legislators is an important aspect of advocacy. Our legislator relationships will provide opportunities to work more closely with them to get bills introduced, shape debates, and eventually pass common sense energy legislation
